Exploring The Aguinaldo Shrine ~ Part 3

If the first floor of Aguinaldo’s Mansion allows you to learn about the history (thanks to Mr Boulevard for explaining everything in details for us), the second floor will somehow take you back in time! Just in case you are wondering why Aguinaldo’s descendants were no long residing in this mansion , it is because Aguinaldo turned over his mansion and a portion of the garden to the government on June 12, 1963 ( almost a year before his death). This is to perpetuate the spirit of the Philippine Revolution of 1896. It was soon declared as National Shrine and a National Treasure few months after the president died at the age of 94. The second floor will feature those well preserved rooms and furniture.
P4211353t The architecture here is more like inspired from Baroque and Gothic styles which is more likely influenced by Spanish and American during their colonial period. We were warmly welcomed by Mr Valer Velez on the second floor but allow us to freely explore the mansion without any tour guide and we do not think it is really necessary since there are written infos in every room. The bedrooms of Aguinaldo’s daughters can be found on the left wing.

xlkjfjfk The left wing of the mansion will lead you to this balcony. Interestingly, they called it as the Balcony of Sinners. The General playfully named this place as such because it was where the revolutionaries plotted the military strategies.

P4211384t In the Small reception room lies a vintage radio that is still playing while you explore the mansion. It will surely make you feel that you are taken back in time. Here’s a video.

Somehow haunting for me haha

Well, this concludes my trip to Aguinaldo Shrine. Hope you all enjoyed it. In case you want to visit the place here are guide.

How to Get to Aguinaldo Shrine
From Coastal, ride a bus bound to Cavite City or Naic Cavite since they both have the same route. Once you get to the Kawit Loop Road, you’ll find the mansion immediately.

Nope.. there are rope barriers in every room and the only thing you can do is to take a peek without holding anything from them
