Saint James Parish Church In Subic, Zambales

And finally, we are down to the last church from our list! St James Parish Church is located in Subic, Zambales. They said that the church was actually founded since 1607 but the current building is seemingly a new one. It probably went through a series of restoration and renovation all through the years.P3124320tThe church has a very simple yet unique-looking facade. Although at some point it reminds me of both Ermita Shrine in Manila and the Mary Help of Christians Shrine in Parañaque.P3124321tAt the center of their facade is a balcony with a life sized image of Saint James (same feature that you can find from Ermita Shrine and Saint Jude Church in Ternate Cavite).P3124322tThe Church’s nave. Saint James Parish Church is also under the Diocese of Iba (part of Southern Vicariate) and the current parish priest is Rev. Fr. Audencio Mozo, Jr. and Rev. Emmanuel Jose S. Montes. I’m not really sure but one of them welcome us so warmly and tell us a brief story about their church.
P3124326tThe altar features the image of the resurrected Christ and behind it is a stained glass picture showing the Holy Trinity and St. James with a base of two angels which forms also like a hand .

The design is simple which makes it even more beautiful. I’m glad they take good care of it and maintain it well. The interior is lovely and that stained glass is stunning!

What a beautiful church. I am not religious by any means but it amazes me how beautiful church buildings are and so much history in each facet.

I love visiting churches too – they are so architecturally fascinating, and sometimes so weird! I have quite a collection of those.

you’re right, the church looks kinda new for a 1607-built church. anyway, glad to see photos of different churches here in your page. I hope to visit some of them someday. 🙂

Tama ka. Mukhang modern yung simbahan nila kaya I think na-renovate na itong church na ito.

I also visited a church in Subic area pero not this one. It is dedicated to Mama Mary.

Roman Catholic churches are really awesome, they’re huge and historical. I haven’t visited that many churches yet but I am always in awe when I get to visit one.
