Strawberry Farm In La Trinidad, Benguet

P2284102tIf we are to follow our original itinerary, we are supposed to visit the Burnham Park followed by Camp John Hay but it didn’t push thru. The weather is seemingly not cooperating with us that time. So we headed to our next destination which is the Strawberry Farm in La Trinidad, Benguet. Well, technically, it is not in Baguio but it is more or less 30 minutes away from Baguio City and is definitely worth a visit.P2284068T

Before getting into the farm, here’s what I tried first. I saw someone selling Strawberry ice cream and so I gave this refreshing dessert a shot!P2284069T
P2284070T

Definitely one of the best Strawberry Ice cream I have ever tasted!P2284071TI can say that the Strawberry Farm is one of my most favorite parts of our Baguio trip because this is my first time to witness an actual Strawberry farm. 111111111Because you know, the only time I saw a farm filled with strawberries is thru Farmville LOL.1111122`31I’m not sure how many hectares does the entire farm covers but I learned that the land is not just owned by a single person but it is more like a collection of different farms adjacent to each other.P2284074TToday, it is no longer just a strawberry farm but you can also see a lot of other vegetables and ornamental plants like Lettuce, cabbages and more.P2284075TP2284076TThese signs will welcome you when you entered the farm. It is also important to note that there is NO entrance free going to the farm but if you want to pick strawberries, you can do so by paying Php450. They will provide you a basket for you to fill in.P2284078TP2284079TAs much as I want to experience Strawberry picking, the frugal me decided not to. I saw a bunch of stores outside the farm selling the same amount of strawberries yet half the price of the strawberry picking fee.P2284080TLettuce and Stawberry fieldsP2284082TP2284083TP2284081TThese Sunflowers are even taller than meP2284084TStrawberries ♥P2284085TP2284086TP2284088TTP2284089TI personally like this portion of the farm!P2284090TP2284092TP2284097tP2284098tP2284099tP2284096tBeware “Carrot Man” , Lettuce Man is here!P2284095TI wasn’t able to see his face so let’s just all leave it a mystery hahaP2284101rI bought some lettuce outside too!

Hi. Nice post and makes me crave for strawberries. There is a difference between buying from a grocery here and being there… and it’s the scenery, the mood, the cool climate!

That place sure is beautiful. I’ve never been that far up north yet in the Philippines. I would love to visit there.

That place must feel so fresh and clean. I love strawberries. I would go crazy here considering how fresh and clean they must be there compared to the ones in the grocery.

I’ll definitely make plans to go here next time I visit the Philippines. Thanks for sharing. 🙂 I’ve never actually seen pictures of Benguet or had any ideas on how the place is. Sure is worth it.

It is really nice that you can go in a strawberry farm and actually pick up your own strawberries. They are one of my favorite fresh fruits, I love to leave them in a bowl over night soaked in sugar, in the fridge, and then the next day to have them with cream on top. They are so yummy!

I visited the strawberry farm there in Benguet years ago and haven’t been back yet. Next time that I go, I want to hand pick strawberries from the farm! Whew, your post made me crave for fresh strawberries.

I love picking my own strawberries they always taste so much better than buying them from the supermarket. Here in the UK in Dorset where I live there are many farms who open their doors to strawberry pickers!

It’s such a fun day out and now I really want some strawberries!!

I love strawberries and i love finding and eating wild strawberries when i’m in the mountains. This looks like a really cool place, glad you had a great time! I’m sure ice cream was great too. What annoys me about strawberry ice cream is that it never tastes like actual strawberries, hope that one did 🙂

I wish I had an opportunity to pick strawberries when I went there myself several years ago. It would have been a great experience. But all I did was you know, take pictures with the field for my background. It’s just that I couldn’t afford it, and like you said there are strawberries vendors outside anyway who sell them for half the price.

so true.. someone from the farm told us that if you picked the strawberries improperly, the plant may no longer bear fruit anymore and that’s also one of the reasons we hesitate to avail that Strawberry picking… also it is hard to tell which strawberry is good or not hehe but I think it is all about the experience.. i wanna try that someday too

This brings back childhood memories! I’m not so sure if this was the one we visited while I was still in high school but I do remember having loads of fun picking the strawberries. I thought they grew in big trees when I was small. haha. and of course, for sure the strawberries back then are cheaper compared today. 🙂 would love to come back there again.

So many greens! It takes me back when we visited the place MANY years ago, but the most memorable moment for me was strawberry picking. I remember having this huge basket and holding it up for my mom to place the pickings in (as I was too careless at the time to do it properly myself). Ang saya naman ng “lettuce man”, haha! No front photo? I love fresh strawberries and had to keep myself from eating a whole basket once we were done. Hahah. Ah, fond memories.

Ganyan na pala itsura nyan ngayon? I brought my kids there when they’re still little, more or less 10 years ago. And yes, we allowed them to pick strawberries w/ one rule- to eat what they picked 🙂 Beautiful experience!

First of all, great pictures! I really enjoyed your post here and the ice cream looks amazing and so fresh. I wonder why it is so much more expensive to pick your own strawberries instead of buying them outside? Still it would have been nice to have the experience.

Wow beautiful post. Every year I pack off with my kids for summer holidays and land at a hill station called Kufri in India. Then we go to cherry orchards, apple orchards and strawberry farms. Your pictures made me miss that so badly

The tourists’ Baguio trip sure isn’t complete if they don’t at least try some strawberry taho and/or ice cream at Strawberry farm. Glad you had fun on your visit to my hometown (Baguio)!

This post is just so inspiring me of growing my own veggies. I love strawberries and the ice cream looked amazing. I certainly would like to try the taste of fresh strawberries in ice cream like that. I understand that you were basically to lazy to pick them, is that right? Next time go for it, fresh from the plant, nothing is more healthy than that!

It has been more than a decade since I last visited Baguio. And I’m really looking forward to visit it again, I’ve heard that so many things have changed already. If ever I’ll have the chance again, I’ll definitely add this strawberry farm in my IT. I don’t really eat strawberries, hehe, but I wanted to see the farm 🙂
