A Visit To Kamay Ni Hesus

1111111111

My original plan was to visit Kamay Ni Hesus (Hands of Jesus) this coming May since I saw an interesting Day Trip tour online that will take me to Quezon for the Pahiyas Festival which includes a side trip to Kamay Ni Hesus (i’m still planning to avail that though) but one of my churchmates invited me to join their group to the said pilgrim site and I didn’t hesitate at all because this has been on my bucket list for quite a long time but never got an opportunity to visit the place. Reaching Lucban Quezon was not an easy ride! From Cavite it took us more or less four hours of driving just to reach our destination and it was one scary ride too!P2203465tIt was my first visit to Lucban and to Kamay Ni Hesus so this trip is really something special to me. I’m so glad that I joined their group for this wonderful adventure. Most of the members of our groups were students and their main intention was to conduct random interviews to pilgrims as part of their thesis! The moment we arrived on the site, me and two of my churchmates decided to attend the mass after having a quick breakfast. The mass is supposed to start at 9:30 but ended up starting around 10:30 for some reason. It’s worth the wait though.P2203513tKamay Ni Hesus covers 5-hectare land which features the famous Via Dolorosa Grotto with the 50ft statue of the Ascending Christ on its peak and other retreat facilities. The healing church or now known as the Kamay Ni Hesus Healing dome is founded by Rev. Fr. Joseph Ayala Faller. Father Faller is a healing priest and is known for numerous miracles. His story is really amazing and we are so lucky to be part of that mass that day. It was actually a quick mass and a short homily but the highlights of that mass is the healing prayer and I am telling you, you will have an extraordinary experience and almost unexplainable feeling during the healing prayer!ZZZZZSSDAside from the Healing dome, there are so many interesting sights to check out in this place including a park featuring different well known images of Mary and other saints.P2203478tOf course, your Kamay Ni Hesus trip will not be completed without climbing the Via Dolorosa Grotto up to its peak. They said that there are over 300 steps before you can reach the top. ZXXZXZDSDMuch like the Via Dolorosa in Antipolo, this one also features life-size images depicting the Way of the Cross. ZszdswsfA tiring yet rewarding climb
zdsdsfsfThe 50ft tall statue of the Ascending ChristZDSFSFDWe bought some souvenirs and pasalubong too before leaving the Pilgrim Site.P2203666tWe also had a quick visit to Lucban ChurchP2203687tLook, they are seemingly prepping up for the upcoming Pahiyas too!

Note: This post is just a quick overview of my Kamay Ni Hesus experience! I will post more about this trip soon

wow, the Via Dolorosa Grotto is so beautiful!!! 300 steps before you can reach the peak huh?? I guess with so many life size images along the way, you won’t really feel like you are climbing 300 steps?? the view from the peak with the Ascending Christ must be breathtaking.. great shot at photo #6.. 🙂

I have seen this in several other blogs about this and I have been wanting to go. It feels so huge and all that. It might be good to go during this Holy Week, try new churches that direction. I would like to see this too.

I’ve never seen any place like this before. It looks intriguing, especially the statues with the scenes from the Way of the Cross. When I travel I tend to go to the mass too, see the differences between cultures, even if I don’t speak the language. It’s very interesting, especially the moment when people get up and shake their hands with strangers. I find it very comforting.

I love the way you edited the images, it suits the location well. I am not aware that we have those grotto and our own version of Christ the Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I have once climbed 1000 steps to reach a pilgrimage in Gujarat, India. The feel of being closer to God is definitely a lot different after you have climbed these 🙂
