Aside from the colorful Bangenge (giant paper-mache mascots), the festival also features cute Kuneho (Rabbit) Lanterns. Usually , the lanterns are made from Japanese papers but as time passes by, the participants have become more and more creative and resourceful and they started to use different materials to create their rabbit lanterns.PC152544tUnlike the Bangenge, the frame of the lanterns are mostly made from wires and small bamboo sticks. They will either put a real candle or a battery-powered led light inside. The lanterns have improvised wheels so the participants can just pull the rabbits during the parade. This rabbit lantern above is made from Ipil Ipil pods coated in gold paint. Very resourseful indeed.PC152546tBigger rabbit lanterns on displayPC152547tMuch like the Bangenge, the rabbit lanterns were made by students from different schools and other represenatatives from different Barangays
