Regada Water Festival 2016
One of the most awaited festivals in Cavite City is just around the corner! Regada Water Festival is back for its 21st celebration this year. Regada Water Festival is indeed one of the most festive celebrations here in Cavite which is done to honor the Feast day of St John The Baptist (24th of June). It is basically a yearly tradition that is often associated with several water festivities such as Street Dance Parade, Karakol of San Juan Bautista, several other games and contests and of course the “Basayawan” where people splash water to anyone whether they are strangers or not. Compare to other water festivals in the country like the famous Watta Watta Festival in San Juan, Batanggas The Regada is relatively new. This year, the festival comes up with a tagline “Wet Pa More” which seemingly follow the same set of festivities. Here are the scheduled of Activities for the upcoming Regada 2016Stay tune for more updates about this event. Check HERE for more info.
I haven’t heard about Regada not until I visited this site. Sure that this festival is fun since it’s water festival. But as for me, I find it fun for sure and partly quite annoying. hahaha But that depends though. For sure, if I am not in the mood, it’s not a good idea to attend this event, perhaps.
Looks like a fun event, like the Wattah! Wattah! Basaan Festival in San Juan. I just hope everyone is game to be wet.
Hey, it’s so strange for me to realize that this is the first time I heard of Regada Water Festival, which shows how much I have pretty much ignored one of our culture and tradition – we are a nation of festivals.
I am sure everyone in Cavite will have a grand time. Lots of food and beers too!
