Sto Niño De Molino Parish In Cavite

Here comes an overdue post. I should have posted it last year but I went so busy with other activities so i didn’t get enough opportunity to blog about it. Since my auntie know me so well that i love visiting churches, she took me to Santo Niño De Molino Parish. A humble church located in Bahayang Pag-Asa, Molino V Bacoor Cavite. The church has a very interesting facade! I know nothing about architecture but the style of this church seemingly has Gothic-influenced except that it doesn’t have those iconic pointed and flamboyant arches but then I can be wrong!PA022081ttIf I only know where to find that book written by Aloma Delos Reyes entitled “Sto. Niǹo de Molino Bacoor, Canite 1984-1994 : the making of a parish” I could have given you guys more details about this parish. Compare to Saint Michael Archangel Parish of Gen. Evangelista Street of Bacoor Cavite which has been there since 1752, Sto Niño De Molino Parish is relatively new. The construction of the stone church started to take place in 1984 and completed in 1994. Therefore the church is almost 3 decades old.
PA022084tUpon doing a research I have learned that the first priest to be assigned in this parish was Father Arc Balagat while the current parish priest now is Rev. Fr. Reuel Castañeda. As what the name of the Parish connotes, the parish was named after the Infant of Prague (Santo Niño). I can’t find any relevant article that could tell me how old the Sto Niño De Molino image is. It is said that this image was given by Sister Lucia Dos Santos, a visionary of Fatima, Portugal here in the Philippines. It was distributed by Grupo De Imaculada in ten different churches including one in Binondo church. (source)

This church is beautiful and colourful. I was attracted to the Choir Loft with the hanging giant rosary! Nice and unique.

    Mabuhay!

With all those church posts, you surely are a devoted church enthusiast. I do look at churches but not as detailed as you for the sole purpose of my visit is to pray alone. Sometimes I wonder why we need all those churches, just a recurring thought.
