Tarapumwesto! Not Your Typical Tapsilogan!

20160428_201319tLocated in a small and narrow street in Noveleta, Cavite lies a hidden gem! Tarapumwesto is definitely not your typical tapsilogan*. This small restaurant is just situated along the Manila Cavite Road in Noveleta which is just one ride away from my hometown. I have heard and read a lot of great feedback from this shop and it was even featured in a tv program which made me and my family so eager to try their famous menu. Last week, we finally got the chance and I am so overwhelmed with the kind of service we received from them. First of all, i would like to say that this post is not paid and the review is entirely based on my very own experience.
20160428_202157tWe are warmly welcomed by their crews. The moment they saw us approaching their humble shop! It is a very small place and they only got few tables inside which explains why they place bleachers outside so people can sit down while waiting for their turns. Yes, there are times that you have to bear with the long queue much like what we have experienced in Dong Bei Dumplings in Binondo but the only difference is that here, you are being treated like a valued customer.20160428_201656tI am so overwhelmed that night that I forgot to ask details about the shop including their history and story behind their unique restaurant name. Tarapumwesto is basically a combination of two Tagalog words “Tara” which means “Let’s Go / Come On!” and “Pumwesto” which means “Take a Seat / Take a slot”. The moment we get into our table, we got thrilled after seeing their unique menu posted on pot’s lid. It was such a unique welcome because we have never seen anything like that before! If there is one thing I really like about this shop is their outstanding customer service and I don’t mind repeating the same praises over and over if that’s the only way I can commend their crews! They really have such initiative to approach us and ask us of what we need. One of them even came to us just to assist us on getting a perfect groupie haha. 20160428_204406tNow for the food, I know it is a Tapsilogan but none of us are in the mood of eating Tapsilog so we came up with different meals from their menu. The image above is their Chicken Inasal (Php130). Yes, what really makes the shop a lot more engaging is their unique way of serving the food. You are not going to it with plates but with a “Kawali” (Pan). Not just you will enjoy their unique plates but also with their generous servings! 20160428_204519tOne of their best sellers, Chicken Sisig (Php 140). I also find their beverages quite interesting. They got their very own tea and the servings are classified into two. You can either order a “Garapon” for Php30 (it is basically a huge mason jar filled with their own tea or the “Takure” for Php90 (the tea is placed on a little kettle and is good for two). 20160428_204801tPork Sisig (Php140)20160428_204917tGrill Liempo (Php90.00)20160428_205704tIf there is one thing I would highly suggest to you if ever you decided to drop by here in Tarapumwesto!, You should ask for that GOD DAMN EXTRA RICE! The reason is simple, it’s the overwhelming cuteness! The rice is is served in a small pot which is really cute! Oh by the way, did I mention that the place offers WiFi service too? A crew initiatively approach us and ask us if we want to connect with their wifi!

    Hello! Do you remember me??

I love all the Filipino food as they tastes different in the marinating and sauces served. Now I forgot the names but the chicken inasal sounds familiar. Yums!

What a unique way to serve ordinary food like Silog. I saw that their prices are really affordable.

As I have observed the serving wares are the actual cooking utensils. This is the first time I see this. It is unique I should say.

I’ve never eaten Filipino food but it looks amazing! And that rice pot is super cute. It’s nice that you had such a great time at that restaurant. Good customer service makes all the difference.

This place looks really good. The plate did catch my attention but it is interesting. I think it would needed to with those huge portions of food! It is a way to be unique and I like going to new places where they do things just a little differently.

HEY! I would love to have the chance to eat there. That is the kind of kainan I like! Medyo lutong bahay style, no frills, just good food and reasonable prices.

The name is so catchy! 🙂 I’ve never actually been to a tapsilugan before as I’m not much of a fan. Hehe. Food looks yum though.

How different ! The presentation of their food is amazing , I love ‘rustic traditional’ places like this . Mostly their food is much nicer than many of these posh restaurants . A shame that I will most likely never get the chance to go there . A bit far from Spain , but even better to have such amazing travel blogger as you are . At least we can have a peek online. Thank for sharing all your adventures !

I’m quite sad that you didn’t feature their tapa! I love trying out tapsilogans because tapsilog is my all time favorite. Have you tried Dongalos Tapsi? That’s the best I’ve tried so far!
