The Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ Parish In Las Piñas
If you drive along Alabang-Zapote Road, just few kilometers away before reaching SM Southmall in Las Piñas,you’ll pass by this unique-looking church. It hs a unique name too! It is known as the “Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ Parish” and it is probably the most modern-looking church I have seen so far. While mot part of Las Piñas were embracing the old and Spanish-inspired atmosphere, the Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ Parish delivers a different and futuristic approach 
Interestingly, the construction of the church started out as friendly challenge but the architect took it seriously and now, the church was able to encapsulate what a “millennium church” is all about”. The shape and the concept of the design was interestingly inspired from a marine organism known as “nautilus”. You can check here why the architect chose this unique design for the building. Invited by Cardinal Sin, the Stigmatines came to Manila on October 10, 1984. With the task of establishing a new Parish in Talon. Cut down from Mary Immaculate Parish in Moonwalk, the Parish was inaugurated in June 12, 1985 with a unique name of Parish of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ. From the small chapel in front of PLDT, the church was moved to the present site along the main road of Zapote-Alabang. The construction of the majestic church took about fifteen years
The long series of Stigmatine Parish Priests with changes and repetitions, made the faithful more attached to Christ than to his representatives. The Parish Evangelization Program (PEP) and the Youth Evangelization Program (YEP) have remained the main pastoral activities with those of the six Commissions. The charitable arm of the Parish is Kasambuhay, a Stigmatine Institution which works mostly for school assistance of more than one thousand pupils and students.

They also got this huge book encased in glass entitled “Friends of the Parish of The Five Wounds of Jesus”. Not sure of the content though.

People are also allowed to go upstairs (accible outside the church) to visit the adoration chapel.

Unlike the typical adoration chapels, this one has no chairs or pews. 
I can’t find a Blessed Sacrament either.
They got a replica of Full-length image of the Turin Shroud (a length of linen cloth bearing the image of a man that is believed by some Christians to be the burial shroud of Jesus) 
They got small garden upstairs too! It’ truly a great experience visiting this modern Catholic church

wow, this is impressive!! indeed one very modern looking church it is!! I have to say I like the contemporary design as well as the simplicity inside.. and that huge book is equally impressive, I wonder if it is fully worded on every page inside?? now a trivia time: guess how many pages are there in that giant book?? :p

I was very impressed and at the same time happy to know that such a very beautiful church exist in Metro Manila. Immediately upon seeing the church online I felt that a certain miracle awaits there. I hope to visit one of these days to bring also my husband who is recuperating from his Shaunt surgery of his head due to Normal Pressure hydrocephalus. I am so happy that a friend told me about this unique and holy church which as its name depicts “FIVE WOUNDS OF JESUS CHRIST” venerable. Thank you for this beautiful church.
