A Day Trip To Pangasinan : The Sunflower Maze Farm of Tayug
UPDATE 2018: The blooming season has just begun! The Sunflower Maze farm of Tayug will be opened to public once again (they’re actually already open early this year but the flowers are not in their best blooming state yet). The Annual Open Days will start in the second week of March and the maze will be at its glorious state til May!
The Annual Open Days will begin on March 12, 2018 as confirmed by the Municipality of Tayug
After exploring the Cabongaoan Beach and witnessing the Death Pool upclose, we headed to another interesting place in Pangasinan ~ the Sunflower Maze Farm of Tayug. We almost lost our way but we’re glad we managed to make it on time. We were told that the farm will close at 5pm and we arrived there around 5 or ten minutes before they close. Luckily, it was their peak season and they are accepting visitors even until 6 or so.
Sunflower Maze Farm is located in Tayug, Pangasinan and is said to be the first ever Sunflower Maze in the country. It was owned by Allied Botanical Corporation and was opened to general public in early February but they went on a temporary closure as the plants started to wither and the petals began falling. On top of that, the farm was heavily damaged by the tourists. Weeks after replanting, the Sunflower Farm was re-opened to public on March 25. It was the blooming season for their sunflowers which will only last for a month (petals was expected to fall on the last week of April). So much like the flowers, Sunflower Farm is an attraction that is only seasonal and we are very thankful that we were able to catch the farm in its greatest condition.
The Sunflower Maze farm is divided into many sections with the Sunflower Labyrinth as the main attraction but there were areas that are equally stunning and absolutely picture worthy.
We were greeted by this stunning trail of red Celosia Cristata (we used to call this flower as “palong ng manok”)
The “Recycled” Section
There is an area in the farm that is called Recycled and as what the term suggests, most of the materials used in this landscape are recycled. Most materials here are salvage and scrap materials from the farm including old tires, used pots and gardening materials, drums, sprinklers, cabinets and more.
Old tire used as pot for these Vinca Mega Bloom flowers
This trip could be very educational too as you will learn the terms given for such breed of flowers
The Sprinkler
Every area in this place is picture worthy!
Colorful Landscapes
There is a bunch of different landscapes in this farm filled with colorful flowers. Each landscape will vary in terms of their designs.
It is not just for sunflowers but an entire garden of different ornamental plants.
I just love the fact how this place burst with colors! It just brought some kind of relaxing feeling and I just wish I have a garden as huge and as colorful as this one.
The Truck
Another notable attraction in this farm is the so-called The Truck. They said that this old truck is the symbol of Allied Botanical Corporation (ABC)’s humble beginning. They said that it was the first service vehicle used by Mr Willy Co, the founder of Allied Botanical Corporation. He started this business in 1984 selling sorghum seeds.
Huge Veggies
Just few walks away from the Sunflower Farm, you will encounter an area filled with huge veggies. It includes a wide variety of gourds, melons and squashes and they are all extremely huge in sizes.
Sunflower Maze
The main attraction of them all is the Sunflower Maze! It is interesting to note that it takes more than 8000 sunflowers to make such huge maze. The labyrinth covers the 2100 square meter portion of the 3 hectare farm. You were lucky enough if you manage to visit the site in its blooming season as you will witness a remarkable view of the sunflower field. The maze was made in collaboration of the landscape designer Toni Rivera. Interestingly, the maze has three secret gardens (they are dead ends where visitors can take a rest while figuring out where the exit is).
So I guess that is safe to assume that this place in Tayug, Pangasinan is safe from zombies right? With such amount of Sunflower, I think it is good enough to gather great amount of sunlight and summon the best plants to guard your lawn haha.

I would love to visit this too. My mom would be glad if I am gonna bring her here. She is very p[assionate about flowers.
Wow, paradise! I wish to visit someday. Sunflower is my fave.
I am a huge sunflower lover since a kid. And this place looks so fabulous! The concept of the Recycled section is brilliant and not to mention, your photography is just as great as always 🙂
Wow! The first thing I noticed about this post was your gorgeous photography! You managed to capture the ambience perfectly!
It looks like just a beautiful day, I wish they had more places like this is Australia. I find that the more I visit people’s blogs and look at their beautiful work, the more I want to travel to these places and experience them for myself.
Keep up the amazing work! 🙂
Wow! I love flowers, I want to go there! There’s a lot of people visiting the place too. I hope when get a chance to visit there aren’t that many, Lol. Just so I can take lots of photos. Haha. The challenging part is the place is seasonal but that’s given. Thanks for the notes and for sharing!
Thank you for the travel guide! I’ll bring my kids here sa weekend.
This is so heavenly! Just by looking at the flowers, it’s so comforting and relaxing. Actually, I’m wondering if are there workshops that involves the sunflowers like planting and taking care of them? The place actually reminded me of a place back home called Kawa-Kawa, it has lots of sunflowers too! Someday, I’d like to bring my mom as well. 🙂
That is just so many flowers in one place! So much vibrancy and so many different colors. simply love it.
Are those flowers still in the process of growing more taller? I’ll pay a visit when they grow taller til I don’t see people from the other side else, I don’t think it’s a maze.
Thanks!
How tall is the sunflower which as you have said it’s hard to find the exit once you have entered the farm? As I have seen in the picture, visitors are taller than the sunflowers themselves. In that case, they could easily figure out where the dead and the exit.
Hi sir Gil.. the plants are chest-high and you can barely see the path actually unless you are familiar with the layout
I have heard about this place from other bloggers, but have yet to visit. Maybe I’ll finally get the chance to next time.
This is definitely a place on my to visit list now. It’s so beautiful there with all of the different flowers. But I always have loved sunflowers and have attempted to grow some of them myself sometime. And I love them.
Waaaah! you’re so lucky!! I wanted to visit this place since it opened but then my schedule was tight that time and then it closed. Huhu. Your pictures clearly depicted the beauty of the place and the flowers. I will definitely visit them when they open again. The place is just so girly and very instagrammable. hehe.
This is so cool! Sunflowers are a big part of my and my husband’s love story. In fact, he gave me a sunflower engagement ring. I would love to wander around the Sunflower Maze! It looks fun! I do love all the other flowers though. So pretty!
Wow. Beautiful! All those blooms available to view and enjoy for a whole month. I wish they lasted longer so more people can appreciate the their beauty!
oh my! such an amazing and relaxing place to hop in. will include this place in my bucketlist
Thank you for the information. I’ll take note of its blooming season. I would love to have a photo shoot session with my partner here. It’s so Instagrammable. Of course, we’ll have to make sure that we go on a weekday so there are fewer people around.
Woooww!! This post is so inspirational!! Not only are your photos extraordinary, but looking at what you have photographed, I also got several ideas for decorating my own garden, and that’s so great. I especially like the recycled section and the truck. Landscapes are not even taken into consideration. It is really a heaven on earth.
After the tulip farms of Holland, here is the sunflower farm of Philippines. I think you must promote this post very often so that it comes on the bucket list of the overseas travelers. Somebody typed his name on one of the vegetables and I found it funny. But why should one use rubber tyres here, I dont understand. Air will not move freely across the tyre as its mplecules are packed very tightly.
You posted lots of gorgeous photos. The Sunflower Maze looks wonderful. I would love to see that. This place is full of bold colors!
WOW! All I can say is WOW! I like how beautiful the flowers are and it’s almost picture-perfect. i hope if people can see the beauty in these, I hope they will treasure and take care of the nature which God has given us. I hope they don’t just litter any rash around and I hope they would be encourage to plant their own flowers and tress. So much beauty in this post!
Oh my what a stunning place to visit! Sunflowers are my absolute favourite so I would love the sunflower maze.
I’ve mentioned to you before that my dad lives in the Phillipines, the more posts of yours I read the more tempted I am to go visit and see everything for myself!
So pretty!!! Love your photos hehe. And I’ve been wanting to go since it popped up on social media!
I didn’t know there’s a Sunflower maze farm in Pangasinan. The next time we go there, I’ll ask hubby to drive there so we can visit the place.
Hi, do you have an idea if is there a way to get a ride from there going to Dagupan? Can I wait for a bus in Cebuana Lhuillier going to Dagupan?
Hi! Are the sunflowers on their blooming season by the end of May? Thank you.
Yes Kae, according to the municipal of Tayug, the Blooming season will last til May
Wow, this is another pride of Pangasinan. I love flowers a lot as it grants me a refreshing feeling. I haven’t been to Pangasinan yet, and will definitely include Tayug in my bucket list and get to traipse my feet in this sunflower maze farm. I love that it doesn’t own just a sunflower, but it has a variety of flowers to see and enjoy as well. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Is the Tayug site accessible only by jeepneys n tricycles, Are private vehicles allowed?
