Sagala 2012 : Part 1

Allow me guys to introduce one of Philippines notable celebrations known as “Flores de Mayo”. It is a Catholic Festival and is randomly celebrated in the country. The celebration usually last for a month and several activities are being held including the so-called “Sagala”.

A Sagala is a religio-historical beauty pageant held in many cities, towns, and even in small communities throughout the Philippines during the month of May. One of the most colourful aspects of this festival, the pageant depicts the finding of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena, mother of Constantine the Great. Many movie and television personalities participate in the events and are featured in major sagala.” (source : Wikipedia)

I remember attending “Sagala ” before and my mom used to pair me with either my playmate or one of my classmate.

My little brother got an offer this year but he refused to be a part of this year’s Sagala because he’s too shy about it haha. Anyway, I will post more about this event in my next entry. I will tell you how great and how disappointing it was at the same time !
