A Trip To Mariveles : The Sisiman Lighthouse

Located just beside the marvelous peak of San Miguel is another interesting sight, the Sisiman Lighthouse. Well it is not as grand as the other locations we have seen in Mariveles but it is indeed another picture-perfect spot that you definitely should not miss when visiting the humble town of Mariveles in Bataan.IMG_0540tI don’t know how tall the lighthouse exactly but as you can see, there are four layers of staircase. It is also interesting to note that this is a fully functional lighthouse to guide all the fishermen and seafarers of the Sisiman bay.IMG_0535tThe lighthouse is definitely a great subject for photography and it could have look much scenic if you capture the lighthouse either during the sunset or sunrise.IMG_0550tFrom the lighthouse, you can see the group of islets which makes the scenes more amazing and if you are lucky enough, you can also see the silhouette or Corregidor  Island from afar.IMG_0558ttIMG_0561tIMG_0546tIMG_0564t
The Sisiman Beach Resort is just few walks away from the light house. I do not think there is an entrance fee to the resort but I guess the resort managers will charge visitors for the rent of their seemingly unmaintained cottages . It is a very simple resort with nipa huts near the shore. There are rest rooms but if you are into sanitation, I suggest you to find somewhere else haha. They do not offer any rooms or accommodation so if you are planning stay here for a long period of time, you might check the list of cheap hotels in Bataan for your own convenience.
IMG_0570tThis post finally concludes my recent trip in Mariveles. I was really surprised that Mariveles has so much to offer. I was stunned by the Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar in Bagac and the Shrine of Valor in Pilar Bataan but the experience I had in Mariveles is truly unforgettable and I wouldn’t mind visiting this so-called Batanes of the West again.
