Manila is getting a lot of buzz recently because of its recently restored Manila Bay. Who would have thought that with the combined efforts of the government and none-government organizations, they can restore this part of Manila back to its former glory? Despite the heavy traffic and overly crowded areas, Manila alone has so much to offer and some of which are simply beyond expectations.

Manila offers a lot of historically-significant places that are absolutely worth a visit. To top it all, Metro Manila houses some of the biggest shopping malls to explore in the country. Not to mention some amazing night bars and casinos that you should definitely include on your list! Intramuros

I’ve been to Intramuros for a countless times but it never fails to amaze me. Intramuros which literally means the Walled City is a historically-significant attraction in Manila which will definitely take you back in time. Within the Intramuros, you will be greeted with well-preserved buildings which happens to be there since 15th century. Some of the notable landmarks within Intramuros includes the Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church and the cobblestone streets of General Luna. Every corner of Intramuros is absolutely picture worthy.

Old Chinatown

We just went to Binondo few days ago to celebrate the recently concluded Chinese New Year. It is very interesting to note that Binondo is considered to be the oldest Chinatown in the world. If you are looking for some authentic Chinese cuisine, Binondo is definitely a perfect place to go. Some of the popular restaurants like Sincerity Cafe, Dong Bei Dumplings, Ying-Ying, New Po-heng, Quik Snack and Estero Food are definitely worth a visit.

Looking for a place to shop? Well, you will never run out of malls in Manila. In fact, some of the largest malls in the world can be found here. This mostly includes SM Malls such as SM North Edsa (6th Largest in the world), SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia. Mall of Asia is situated near the bay which definitely gives you a refreshing and romantic ambiance. It has become a major commercial center especially for people residing on the South area. The place features various restaurants, fast foods, apparel, boutiques, cafes and even condominiums.

Metro Manila Casinos

If you are up for a nightlife experience and gambling, Manila will certainly not disappoint. It may not be as grand as the Las Vegas but will surely give you a new level of excitement and fun. National Museums

Manila also houses some of the country’s most stunning museums. Located within the Rizal Park are three old museums which can take you back it time. National Museum of Fine Arts features some of the country’s well known visual art collection. It houses the huge Spoliarium by Juan Luna and also the well preserved Session Hall of the old Senate. National Museum of Anthropology, on the other hand, features some anthropological and archaeological items including the wreck of San Diego and other ancient artifacts. The newly opened National Museum of Natural History features educational pieces and collection related to plants and animals.
