Regina Caeli, an Exhibit of Canonically Crowned Marian Images in the Philippines

Last October, a special Marian exhibit was held at San Agustin Museum in Intramuros. Dubbed as Regina Caeli, this special exhibit aims to showcase some of the pontifically crowned Marian images from different parts of the country. The objective of Regina Caeli is to show that our country is “Pueblo Amante de Maria” or a people in love with Mary. It was almost a month-long exhibit which run from October 10 to October that also coincides with the Holy Rosary month.

During the month-long run of the exhibit, Regina Caeli was still part of the normal-rate visits at the museum (with Admission free of Php200 /head) except on October 27 when the museum was publicly opened for free in celebration of Philippine Museum and Galleries Month. Intramuros Administration successfully organized the event in partnership with different Marian shrines, parishes and santo devotees.

Currently, our country has 42 Pontifically crowned Marian images. 37 in Luzon, four in the Visayas, and one in Mindanao. Nuestra Señora de los Dolores in Quezon and Nuestra Señora de Lourdes of Quezon City will also be crowned this year.
