Tatlumpung Salaping Pilak: A Lenten Exhibit in Imus, Cavite
The Parish of the Holy Family in Lancaster New City, Imus, Cavite in cooperation with different camareros in Cavite, organized a Lenten exhibit showcasing a great collection of Lenten processional images. The exhibit is entitled “Tatlumping Salaping Pilak: Mga Larawan ng Pagpapatawad” (Thirty Pieces of Silver: Images of Forgiveness). This is a reference to Matthew 26:14
“One of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?” They paid him thirty pieces of silver, and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over.”
This reminds us of the various conflicts, betrayal and deceit that we have experienced from time to time in our lives and that God, our refuge and hiding place is always with us, and he will deliver us from our situation in this period of darkness. He will strengthen and give us His perfect peace in the midst of our difficulties and sufferings. The sacrifices of Jesus, His offerings and His death helped us to strengthen our faith so we can receive His grace and respond to it with a compassionate, loving and forgiving heart to others especially for those who have wronged us.
The Lenten exhibit officially opened on March 12 and will run until March 27. It is a free exhibit and everyone is invited to witness all these beautiful processional images. Here are some of the images in the exhibit.
